Columbus Blue Jackets star Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and his brother Matt Gaudreau, 29, died Thursday when a Jeep hit them as they rode bicycles in southern New Jersey.
The brothers were stars at Gloucester Catholic High School and Boston College. Johnny played eleven seasons for the Calgary Flames and the Blue Jackets. Matt played in the AHL and coched at Gloucester Catholic.
Johnny is married with two young kids and another on the way. Matt’s wife is also expecting. The brothers were planning to attend their sister’s wedding in Philadelphia.
The Jeep driver is charged with vehicular homicide and DUI.
This is heartbreakingly tragic.
