RIP Ray Hildebrand aka Paul

Singer best known as half of Paul and Paula, who recorded several records under those names beginning in 1962. Hildebrand and Jill Jackson ("Paula," who is still alive) were students at a Texas college when a local disc jockey heard them sing their best known song, "Hey Paula" at a charity benefit. The DJ persuaded them to record the song and they had a brief hit career. They were never romantically involved and their "group" broke up in 1965 when sales of subsequent albums disappointed.
