The usual suspects on this bored, at least some of them, seem to claim ignorance of the very real existence of 'wokeism'. Let me give you an example. You may be liberal, but in supporting the people you do, you let leftism run wild. And you are implicitly OK with many things that are appalling, of which this is one example. I can only speculate how much information you are not exposed to, so I will be specific.

Yesterday, the LA Dodgers baseball team HONORED this group of drag queens called "The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" at their game in celebration of "Pride Month". This group, however they may claim to be a philanthropic group, is obviously, to any clear-minded person, a satirical swipe at Christianity with sexual overtones. More specifically at Catholicism.



The LA Dodger organization, after much thought, decided it was appropriate and necessary to publically honor this group in front of ALL their paying fans, on TV, radio and in the media.

This is an example of wokeism, my friends. It is apparently a priority to their organization to bring a group like this, which, just a few short years ago, had their place among the small group of people who were into that sort of sexual fetish, into the mainstream, which is populated with people of all ages. So much of a priority that they decided it was at the risk of ignoring and insulting Christians, especially those of the Catholic faith. Nobody but a very tiny group of extremists questions their right to exist, but their place is not in the mainstream of society, especially with the hateful message towards Christianity they are organized under.

We all know that the Dodgers, or any other mainstream organization, would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS host, promote or associate themselves with any group or even an individual who was in any way mocking the Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist or any other religion. Much less a sexually oriented group. But it is fair game now in wokeism to promote the denigration and demonization of Christianity.

And it is the height of hypocrisy that the left decries the infiltration of a small number of sexual deviants and child molesters in the Catholic Priesthood, the Boy Scouts and other groups populated with a lot of children, but they are loudly supporting the 'benefit' of exposing pre-pubescent young children to drag queens, transsexuality and other graphic sexual material. Can you not even consider the possibility that there are 'a few' potential child molesters among that segment of the population that are eager to have 'authorized and approved' access to your children?

And keep in mind, this is just ONE example of wokeism.

That is one thing that wokeism is inflicting on us. Are you OK with that? Tell me why you are OK with that. I really would like to understand.

Just read a book on the horrendous murders of priests and nuns and other TPTB associated with the Catholic church during the early days (especially) of the Spanish Civil War by the darlings of the Left in that conflict. I had the exact same thought-they attacked the real faith. That much hatred would not be possible for a false faith.

I know lots of people who at one time or another dressed up in blackface or made statements that years afterward were judged offensive and would not be celebrated by any groups today, regardless of any good they previously done. But offending , mocking, insulting Christians and their faith is OK.

Judging by Flock's reaction to the last sentence, I'd say they have succeeded.

"While I am uncomfortable with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence using the nuns' old garb to draw attention to bigotry, whether Catholic or not, there is a hierarchy of values in this situation," Gramick wrote. "The choice of clothing, even if offensive to some, can never trump the works of mercy." Gramick has a decadeslong history of ministry among LGBTQ Catholics, and paid a price for that ministry after she and fellow New Ways co-founder Salvatorian Fr. Robert Nugent were admonished by the Vatican in 1999. More recently, however, correspondence from Pope Francis has referred to Gramick as "a valiant woman."

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence's use of oversized headgear, heavy makeup and other aspects of theatrical drag is not offensive to Providence Sr. Barbara Battista, since she sees it as entertainment, not serious commentary. Battista praises the service done by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, comparing it to that of actual Catholic sisters. "My take on all this is 'good for them,' " Battista told me. "To my mind, it's just bringing the Gospel to the marketplace. I have no trouble with that." If anything, Battista sees the performance "as a tribute to sisters and what we do. We live a life of service, and that's what they do. My take on all this is 'good for them.' To my mind, it's just bringing the Gospel to the marketplace. I think we forget that the Gospel message is to love your neighbor. No exceptions."

Oh, so they are criticizing Christianity? Perhaps their time would be put to better use criticizing Islam, where all the work they put into their clothing and makeup would have to be hidden under a burka. But wait! There would certainly be a fatwa issued against them by the tolerant sects of the Muslim faith, like they did for the Satanic Verses and the French Newspaper that published a picture of Muhammed. But wait! If they even showed their painted faces in some of the even more tolerant areas of Islam, they would be put to death pretty much immediately. So much easier, safer and, above all, sexy to 'criticize' Christianity, don't you think? After all the Christians did... um... What did the Christians do to them? I forget.

Can't you be real for once? You are literal when it serves your purpose, but you see all kinds of explanations and excuses when it serves your purpose. I guess that is how lawyers work. The truth is most times something to overcome.

Well, perhaps the reason they don't make a public display of opposing fundamental Islam is because they don't live in a society ruled by the dictates of fundamental Islam. They do, however, live in a society where religious fundamentalists and right-wing legislatures demonize and pass laws banning drag performances and take other steps to make life miserable for drag performers and trans people in general. (And yes, I do know drag queens in general are not trans.)

But I guess they should be happy they aren't being stoned in public... usually.

Trans adults report widespread discrimination and harassment, including one in four (25%) who say they have been physically attacked because of their gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. The share rises to three in ten among trans people of color (31%) and those who physically present as a gender different that their sex assigned at birth all or most of the time (30%). Even larger shares of trans adults report being verbally attacked (64%) and being harassed or feeling unsafe in a restroom or locker room because of their gender identity, gender expression, or sexual identity (41%). Trans adults also report more difficulties in childhood, including feeling less safe and facing greater mental health struggles, than other adults. Despite this, nearly eight in ten (78%) of those who present as a gender different than the one assigned at birth say the transition has made them more satisfied with their lives.

I really don't think that you are incapable of finding that out for yourself. But I have to admit you will have to wade through all the stuff defending wokeism. Anytime you see that much stuff on one side of a subject, it is usually hiding the truth, and you really have to look hard to find the truth.

In its infancy, wokeism was used to describe what you see in the myriad definitions you will have to wade through. But it has devolved, as most things the left touches tend to do.

Here is a short definition of what 'WOKE' is now used for.

Woke is the progressive left forcefully inflicting social, economic, and cultural change on the American people without consideration of facts, laws, or the desires of the people impacted.

I'm sure, if you were truly interested in understanding, rather than using that question to catch me on something you can criticize me for and argue about, you could find out on your own. But I will save you the time. Here is one definition that I agree with.
