Golden Moldies
This song made it to #69 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1955. Name the artist:
(yodeling)
The cattle are prowlin',
The coyotes are howlin'
Way out where the doggies roam
Where spurs are a jinglin'
And the cowboy is singing
His lonesome cattle call
(yodeling)
He rides in the sun
'Til his days work is done
And he rounds up the cattle each fall
(yodeling)
Singing his cattle call
For hours he would ride
On the range far and wide
When the night wind blows up and slow
His heart is a feather
In all kinds of weather
He sings his cattle call
(yodeling)
He's browned as a fairy
From ridin' the prairie
And he sings with an western drawl
Singing his cattle call
(yodeling)
The cattle are prowlin',
The coyotes are howlin'
Way out where the doggies roam
Where spurs are a jinglin'
And the cowboy is singing
His lonesome cattle call
(yodeling)
He rides in the sun
'Til his days work is done
And he rounds up the cattle each fall
(yodeling)
Singing his cattle call
For hours he would ride
On the range far and wide
When the night wind blows up and slow
His heart is a feather
In all kinds of weather
He sings his cattle call
(yodeling)
He's browned as a fairy
From ridin' the prairie
And he sings with an western drawl
Singing his cattle call

Very good, NellyLunatic.
Extra credit: What singer who wasn't even thought of yet when the original was made joined Eddy for a duet of this song for Country Classics?

I meant a singer who wasn't born yet. Willie's older than dirt.
OK, OK, he's not older than dirt.

He looks it, though. Willie's 75 this year. I hear he's got a duet with Taylor Hicks coming up.SportsFan68 wrote:LOL! Great guess!NellyLunatic1980 wrote:I have no clue, but I'll guess Willie Nelson.SportsFan68 wrote:Very good, NellyLunatic.

I hope it goes well. I hear that Willie's singing voice has been declining steadily for some time. Maybe Taylor will hold him up.Rexer25 wrote:He looks it, though. Willie's 75 this year. Sorry, Sprots, that was a joke about Willie wanting to sing duets with whoever was available.SportsFan68 wrote:I hope it goes well. The sound of that joke going over my head about five miles up and 300 mph.
Apology not necessary.

I don't think that what they're calling yodeling is really yodeling.SportsFan68 wrote:This song made it to #69 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1955. Name the artist:

Speaking of Willie Nelson, he has a really good Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor. It's called Willie Nelson’s Country Peach Cobbler and it's peach ice cream with cinnamon, sugar, and shortbread pieces. I had some last night and it's yummy.
Here's an article about it:

I would love to find this. Home-made peach ice cream is one of the most delicious treats ever created, and I'm betting this will come a pretty close second.
Of course, I would love to find a Ben and Jerry's within 50 miles.

I would like this also. Best I can do is Baseball Nut at the BaskingRobbings. It's yummy, but it's raspberry, not peach.silvercamaro wrote:PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Speaking of Willie Nelson, he has a really good Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor.
