What Flock Wants for Christmas

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Thu Dec 15, 2022 11:03 pm

I know he's not here very much, but I wanted to let people know about the #1 item on his Santa list. It's Donald Trump DIgital Trading Cards, which were the subject of the highly touted "major announcement" Trump made on Truth Social last night. These NFT cards are a limited edition of 45,000 and sell for $99 each. There are seven different cards featuring Trump in various heroic poses, including a superhero. And in the best online tradition, wait, wait there's more. Everyone who buys a card gets entered in a sweepstakes with prizes like an invitation to a golfing outing with Trump. Buy 45 cards and you get an invitation to a 2,000 person gala with Trump in attendance.

Unfortunately, I'm posting this a bit too late, and BiT already grabbed the headline "Stupid Is As Stupid Does." Supposedly Trump has already sold $290,000 of these cards, proving BiT's point.

I was thinking the same - sad, really.

Too late! Already sold out. I bought the Trump shredding the Constitution one, but I was hoping for the Moscow golden shower one.

They say:
Each Trump Digital Trading Card has a unique pre-assigned rarity. Some will be one-of-one’s (i.e. the only one in the world), while others will be limited to 2, 5, 7, or 10 copies. No Trump Digital Trading Card will have more than 20 copies in existence!
That would mean that no more than 140 cards will exist. So how could there be 45,000 cards?

There's only one Brooklyn Bridge but it's been sold many, many times.

How did you arrive at 140? Please show your math.

7 designs with a maximum of 20 copies = 140

There would have to be 2250 different designs to equal 45,000 if there were 20 copies of each.
