Texas AG really desperate to avoid by-mail votes

#1 Post by Bob78164 » Sat May 02, 2020 6:30 pm

Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton of Texas threatened to criminally charge local officials who send absentee ballots to voters who request them because they're afraid they'll catch COVID 19. He says that's a not a valid reason under Texas law to request or receive an absentee ballot.

Just one minor problem with his position. He's already presented it in court. And lost. So he's threatening local officials with arrest and jail for doing something that a court has said they are entitled (and in this case therefore required) to do. --Bob
