Timeline 2020


-- Timeline 2020 is a series of "chrons" (days) covering a variety of topics. At the basic level, each player must provide the year or decade for a series of events.

-- Timeline 2020 begins May 4 and runs for three weeks, ending May 22.

-- Everyone is encouraged to play. Yes, even you. And you. And, well, okay, you too.

-- Each chron will typically be posted early (0700-0730) Eastern time on weekdays and remain open until the results are posted, usually the next morning before noon. Some chrons may be posted the night before. All Friday chrons remain open through the weekend.

-- Please use a spoiler for all answers.

-- For most of the chrons, players will have to provide additional information besides the year (or decade). These chrons are annotated as Double Timeline, Triple Timeline and even Quadruple Timeline, depending on the level of difficulty. There is also a Timeline "chain" in which all events occurred at a fix number of years apart and must be "chained" together.

-- In most cases, the years (or decades) and other information are provided in the form of a well. Wells are your friends!

-- Hints, although rare, are given in the form of Freebies.

-- No outside sources allowed, this includes previous posts on the board. Don't cheat, it's not becoming.

-- There is no penalty for wrong answers, so guess away!

-- Humorous posts and retorts are encouraged for the good of the Bored, but I don't give out humor points. I have a hard enough time just getting the regular scores somewhat correct!

-- Please check your scores and bring any scoring errors to my attention. I've found that internet dates can be sometimes be wrong (gasp!) or misleading.

-- I try my best to avoid ambiguous wording in the questions. If it happens, please bring it directly to my attention.

-- No political posts allowed. Ever. Do not anger the Timeline gods.

-- I realize chron is not a real word. Maybe it should be.
