Too hilarious not to share...

#1 Post by T_Bone0806 » Tue Apr 14, 2020 9:58 am

Since not everyone here hangs out on Facebook...

A friend of mine, whose father was not only our High School Principal but also the director of our twice-yearly productions (one children's show, one full-blown Broadway musical), was going through her dad's photo album (he recently passed away), when she found pictures of the many shows he had directed over the years. Among the treasures uncovered was this gem. It's me as Conrad Birdie, the Elvis-like rock n' roller in "Bye Bye Birdie". I had several outrageous outfits in the show, but the few pictures I have from the show are of the same outfit, a black satin and silver-sequined ensemble. I have NEVER seen any pics of me in this one, which is the gold lame getup Conrad wears while singing "One Last Kiss" on the Ed Sullivan Show. This is beyond priceless to me.

SO..for your snickering pleasure, here is 15 year-old me, in gold lame and heavy stage makeup, gettin' ready to rock!

I knew there was a reason I had few pictures taken of me in my teens....

Cool!

My high school did Bye, Bye, Birdie, Damn Yankees, and Guys and Dolls. I was an extra in the background of the Telephone Song. I took photos of the last two for our yearbook.
