I didn't want to post anything until it was confirmed, but the official word came down this morning. I will be a gamemeister at the 2020 World Boardgaming Championships this summer in Pennsylvania. Having been a competitor in various board and card games in the past, I'm hyped to add game runner to my WBC resume. I will be in charge of the tournament for the award-winning card game Dominion. I will be taking over for Duncan MacGregor, who had been the Dominion GM for the past 4 years, as well as the runner-up in the 2014 Dominion championship and the third-place finisher the following year.
And don't think that I won't be able to play any games this year. Masters are allowed to compete in their own tournaments. That's why I tapped my friend William Carrigan, last year's sixth-place finisher, to act as my assistant GM to make sure that I'm running a fair tournament.
The 2020 Dominion tournament is tentatively scheduled to run from July 25-28.
