Canadian physicist P.J.E. Peebles has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his lifetime of work in theoretical cosmology. He shares the honor with Swiss scientists Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz.
I took Prof. Peebles's undergraduate quantum mechanics course in 1974, though lot of it went over my head. He's an excellent lecturer.
