The U.S. Embassy's initial reaction (on Twitter):
"The United States extends its condolences to the Mugabe family and the people of Zimbabwe as they mourn the passing of former President Robert Mugabe. We join the world in reflecting on his legacy in securing Zimbabwe's independence."
That's what happens when you spend years driving out of the State Department the people who actually know what they're doing.
The tweet has been taken down and the State Department's Web site now has language much more befitting to Mugabe's actual legacy. --Bob
