I didn't post about her precisely because the story dominated the news. I posted now because the story took a political twist when trump tweeted about it.

The local sheriff was very quick to point out that the alleged killer was an illegal immigrant, and Trump and the right wing sites have gone crazy with it. Bob may have been the first one to bring it up here, but it's been all over the internet and all over Trump's rally speech last night how this proves the need for tough immigration policies.

I sure do wish that our police had some sort of crystal ball that could determine exactly which ones out of any group of people were going to commit a violent crime in the future.

Since this is the real world and not Donald Trump's Fantasy Island, I wish that our police authorities would spend their time as productively as possible to try to do police work that has the greatest possibility of keeping the public safe rather than rounding up hundreds or thousands of non-dangerous immigrants because somewhere in their midst a single potential killer might be lurking.
