Bowen Kerins, of Salem, MA, won $32K on WWTBAM in February 2000. Last week he became the world champion of pinball.

After he won the pinball world title for the first time about 15 years ago, Kerins was scheduled to appear on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno."
He couldn't go because he had college midterms.
"Looking back, I made the wrong decision," he said.
Duh!

I'd guess it would be winning 128,000 quarters....

Well, he did win $10,000 as the pinball champion, and just think of the endorsement opportunites that might come his way because of the pinball win. I am sure that Nike will want to name a shoe after him and that Gatorade will want him for their spokesman.

I don't know about Gatorade. They seem happy promoting their new Tiger® version.

I think I'd rather win an Oscar!
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

This guy was on MY show!!
Well, the show that I was on, that is.
He almost didn't make it, as he had forgotten/lost his ID. I forget the exact story, but someone faxed over acceptable ID for him shortly before taping time.
Wouldn't have made any difference for me if he had been dq'd, as I came in 3rd on that fastest finger. Bowen was a pretty nice guy as I recall.

Nevertheless, losing the Fastest Finger to a pinball wizard is one heck of an anecdote. whether or not there was someone in the middle.
