The game doesn't start for a couple of weeks, but I certainly want to give everybody time to get familiarized with the rules.
General Info
The Summer 2017 version of "TEN!", hosted by Fireball, will consist of twenty-one sets of ten questions to be played over a span of six weeks. The game will be divided into three parts, each part running two weeks.
Part One -- One set of questions on each Monday-Friday from June 12-23
Part Two -- A special "Vacation Bonus Round", which will be only one set of questions to last from June 26-July 7 (to accommodate everybody's 4th of July plans, including my own)
Part Three -- One set of questions on each Monday-Friday from July 10-21
Each set of questions will have a 48-hour (roughly) time limit to submit answers, with the exception of the questions in the Vacation Bonus Round. All answers must be spoilerized so that other contestants cannot see your answers. Googling is prohibited, as always.
Rules -- Part One and Part Three
On each weekday, I will post ten questions. Monday-Thursday games will be on specific subjects. All Friday games will be "Mixed Quiz", where the questions can be from any category. The first nine questions in each game will be multiple choice. Simply pick the right answer on each to earn points. The tenth and final question of each set is a bonus question for double points. Bonus questions always focus on a recent event in the daily subject. Also, you do not get multiple choice on bonus questions. You'll have to come up with those answers on your own. No penalties for wrong answers... except...
"Wrong Answer of the Week"
On the four Sundays that precede the questions for Part One and Part Three, one of my Merry Men will announce a fictional company that will sponsor that week's games. Pay close attention to those fake ads because they will give you a clue for even more bonus points that week. During the week, one (and only one) of the wrong answers among the multiple choices will have a direct association with that fake ad. If you can point out the sponsored wrong answer along with giving your normal correct answer to that question, you'll receive a big bonus.
Be careful with your claims, though. If you make a "sponsored wrong answer" claim on any other wrong answer, you will forfeit some points. Even if you incur a forfeit, you are still eligible to recuperate those points later in the week with a proper claim (if the sponsored wrong answer is still available). This is the only way a player can lose points in this game.
Oh, and if you happen to guess the sponsored wrong answer as your serious answer, you will still get the bonus points. You just won't get any points for a normal correct answer.
Scoring
Week 1 (June 12-16) -- 1 point for each correct multiple choice answer, 2 points for each correct bonus answer, 5 points for spotting the sponsored wrong answer, -5 points for each incorrect claim of the sponsored wrong answer. Maximum weekly score of 60 points.
Week 2 (June 19-23) -- 2 points for each correct multiple choice answer, 4 points for each correct bonus answer, 10 points for spotting the sponsored wrong answer, -10 points for each incorrect claim of the sponsored wrong answer. Maximum weekly score of 120 points.
Week 5 (July 10-14) -- 3 points for each correct multiple choice answer, 6 points for each correct bonus answer, 15 points for spotting the sponsored wrong answer, -15 points for each incorrect claim of the sponsored wrong answer. Maximum weekly score of 180 points.
Week 6 (July 17-21) -- 4 points for each correct multiple choice answer, 8 points for each correct bonus answer, 20 points for spotting the sponsored wrong answer, -20 points for each incorrect claim of the sponsored wrong answer. Maximum weekly score of 240 points.
Rules -- Part Two ("Vacation Bonus Round")
One set of ten mystery questions will last a total of two weeks (Weeks 3 and 4, June 26-July 7) and be worth a maximum of 150 points. These questions are more difficult because they will not be multiple choice and they will have their own set of rules (to be explained when the time comes), which is why they will start out at 15 points each. Along the way, I will post additional clues to the correct answers. After I post the first set of additional clues, each correct answer will be worth 10 points. After I post the final set of clues, each correct answer will be worth 5 points.
There will be no bonus questions or sponsored wrong answers during Part Two.
That's everything. Good luck, and I'll see you on the afternoon of June 12!

Re: TEN!, Summer 2017 Edition -- Rulesheet
This isn't Ten!
My version is ten subjects, ten questions, ten points, ten days. See the pattern?
This monstrosity you've thought up, while ambitious, is not even close to the original in spirit or substance.
I can't stop you from hijacking the game, but Bored tradition has always been to ask the creator/originator for permission to continue a game (yes, I asked Fanny permission to resurrect Decades a couple of years ago). Had you asked me to revive TEN! in the spirit of the original game, I would have agreed.
But not the Summer 2017 Edition. Your version will damage the brand forever.
Please change the name.
It's never too late to do the right thing.
Thanks.
