Lyrically Speaking - 2/2/17

#1 Post by Charlie Brown's Teacher » Thu Feb 02, 2017 4:32 am

Wah wahwah wah wah wah wahwahwah... wah wah wah! Wah wah wah wahwahwahwahwah waaaaahhhh? Wah wah wah wahwahwahwah waaah wah wah. Wah wah wah wahwahwahwah #WahWah

1. I`ve been running hot
You got me ticking
Gonna blow my top

2. I see the kids in the street
Without enough to eat
Who am I to be blind?
Pretending not to see their need

3. Mary Hill used to love
To ride the merry-go-round
All the guys got eager eyes
Watching Mary go round

4. If you wake up and don`t want to smile
If it takes just a little while
Open your eyes and look at the day
You`ll see things in a different way

5. It was a cool and lovely breezy afternoon
(How does it feel when you`ve got no food)
You could feel it cause it was the month of June
(How does it feel when You`ve got no food)

6. She was driving last Friday
On her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy
With the baby in the backseat

7. She said that living with me
Is bringing her down, yeah
She would never be free
When I was around

8. You see my old man's got a problem
He live with the bottle that's the way it is
He says body's too old for working
His body's too young to look like his

9. A sound that flows into my mind
(The echoes of the daylight)
Of everything that is alive
In my blue world

10. He said, you look like a fine, upstanding young man I think you'll do
So I took off my hat I said “Imagine that, huh, me workin' for you”

11. What used to take two hours
Now takes all day
It took me sixteen hours
To get to L.A.

12. Concluding some terms
With a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland

My Top 3 were (in no particular order) BiT, elwood and Esto... but they've already won multiple IBB's so far, so I'm going down the list a bit to give the 5 pointer to Vandal for Joe Hazelwood's fishing expedition...

When I saw Melly's gif, I figured that lb won't know what Toonces was. Here's an entire segment. It is the original appearance, featuring Steve Martin and Victoria Jackson. The second link is for the NBC page with the video. It is much better in quality, but can't be embedded here.
