Verdict just in.
I do not believe in the death penalty on the basis that only G-d gets to decide these things "in cold blood".
I will not be sorry when they execute this guy.

I also would do away with the death penalty, on the basis that if we get it wrong once, that's too often.

Something interesting here in Colorado -- there was a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that applies retroactively and prohibits juveniles from being sentenced to life without parole. We had a 17 year old shoot and kill a young woman to steal the cash he knew she was carrying. He'll probably be eligible for parole in about 20 years when he's 58, but it's not looking good at the moment -- gang affiliation, drug use, illegal contraband, and having tattoo equipment. But that's all internal, and maybe he'll clean up his act in the next 20 years. But if not, I don't want him back in our community.
