An Austin man stabbed his stepmother to death because he felt she was gloating too much about the Dallas Cowboys victory over Tampa Bay on Sunday night. He is currently at large, but Cowboys fans in the Austin area are advised to take extra precautions this weekend.

According to his arrest warrant affidavit, Jones, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder but stopped taking medication two years ago, was planning to join the military, but the pressure was too high. He told investigators his siblings were "disappointed" in him.

Jones reportedly told investigators he had first decided to break his sister's neck, but later changed his mind and planned to injure his stepmother

One sibling is now a little less disappointed, or at least more thankful.

Jones, who had recently moved in with his father and Ruiz .... placed a steak knife beneath a couch to use against Ruiz at a later time,

Pre-meditated and unrelated to the football game.

When police later informed him Ruiz had in fact died, Jones "appeared relieved and advised he stabbed [Ruiz] multiple times under the belief that a single stab would would fail to render death," according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

Seems he is very competent and should not be able to use an insanity defense. This was very well thought out, except for the nakedness thing. That never works, especially in winter.
