The Cubs' last World Series appearance was in 1945. The first televised World Series game was in 1947. The Cubs had been watching the Series on television ever since there WAS television.

My great aunt, who recently turned 106, has lived her entire life without the Cubs ever winning a World Series. I've lived my entire life without ever seeing either of this year's league champions win the Series. And I'm in full-on trial prep mode for a trial that will begin November 1, so there is virtually no chance that I'll see any of the Series while it's happening.
I like what I do. But at times like this I pay a real price.
