Two of my favorite bands back to back for today's song entries:
116. GETTING IN TUNE-THE WHO (1971)
Album: Who's Next
With all of the Classic Rock staples found on the album, this song usually gets overlooked. Unfairly, I contend.
It starts with a simple piano accompanying Roger Daltrey's relatively hushed vocal..then Keith Moon's drums kick it
into power ballad territory.
115. I KNOW WHAT I LIKE (In Your Wardrobe)-GENESIS (1973)
Album: Selling England By The Pound
Delightfully quirky, it was their most commercial song up to that point. Not enough to become a hit here, but it
charted in the U.K. It's about a fella who's happy to be just who he is..a lawnmower. Musically fascinating but
pop enough to sing along to.
