77. FACE VALUE-PHIL COLLINS (1981)
Phil's first solo album and overall, still my favorite. He leans heavily on his love for R & B/Motown ("I Missed Again",
his reimagining of the Genesis song "Behind The Lines"), throws in some pretty torch songs ("You Know What I Mean"), and
doesn't completely ignore his Genesis pedigree (the rock radio staple "In The Air Tonight", a remake of the Beatles'
"Tomorrow Never Knows"). This has a nice variety of sound, and any album that utilizes the Earth Wind and Fire horns
on a number of tracks has got a major positive going for it.
