The former mayor of Washington, D.C. died Sunday.

Mr. Barry is the third former mayor of a big city to die in the past month. Like Tom Menino of Boston, he was the longest-serving mayor of Washington. He had four non-consecutive terms.

Sadly, Barry's son Christopher died of a drug overdose at age 36.
