107. OWSLEY-OWSLEY (1999)
Session musician (and a member of Amy Grant's touring band for 16 years), songwriter, producer..but despite
those credits being mainly in the Country music genre, this, his first of two solo albums, is firmly in the
pop/rock/power pop neighborhood. This album actually received a Grammy nomination for best engineered album.
What it didn't receive was much popularity, which is a shame, because there are some real quality songs here.
Really, there's not much here to dislike. The songs are sharp, crafted well, and tremendously catchy. Sadly,
he passed away in 2010. We'll see him again on this list, as part of a band that released a practically
perfect pop album...to the attention of no one. Sigh.
