The Boney 500: Songs 305-303
Counting down my favorite pop and rock songs released since August of '57, when this lil' music junkie was unleashed on the world. Here's 3 more for the list:
305. JESSICA-ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND (1973)
Album: Brothers And Sisters
OK. You're driving to the office, or maybe a dentist appointment, and this song
comes on the radio. All of a sudden you find yourself on a highway with the window down
and the breeze blowing in your hair. Because this just screams "ROAD TRIP!". It makes
you wish you were a dog so you could hang your head out the window.
304. LOSING MY RELIGION-REM (1991)
Album: Out Of Time
Love the melancholy beauty of this melody. Love Michael Stipe's performance on these lyrics.
Oh yeah. Also love the mandolin.
303. MORNING GIRL-THE NEON PHILHARMONIC (1969)
Album: The Moth Confesses
Top 20 hit that, as the group's name implies, incorporates strings in a sort of
baroque, lightly psychedelic pop sound, if that makes any kind of sense. All I know
is that it's got a really sweet melody.

Really nice.
I did feel like my fingertips were vibrating, somehow, and not so much in a good way. Something about the way the music is processed.
I do love that style and that era. It's not exactly the same, but it made me go listen to Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds' "Don't Pull Your Love" ...
and next up is "Romeo's Tune"
not the same at all, but that's how our brains work ....

As long as it leads to more music, that's the important thing. I often scratch my head at some of the choices something like Pandora or I Heart Radio make when putting "similar music" together in a playlist. I s'pose the bottom line is that we all hear things differently.Ritterskoop wrote:Really nice.

Dickey Betts! Road trip! My friend Kay!
