The Boney 500: Album #129

Yesterday's album was loud and loose rock n'roll. Today's selection is music of a more...intricate nature:

129. EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER-EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER (1970)

Formed by members of, respectively, The Nice, King Crimson, and Atomic Rooster, this
trio combined classical, jazz and rock elements into a progressive rock mix that put
them among the big names in rock in the early 70's. Although I really liked material
on other albums by the group, this one is most consistently enjoyable, even though
"Lucky Man" has worn out its welcome somewhat, given its ubiquitous nature on classic
rock radio. Three master musicians at the peak of their powers.
