Claudette Yamin, mother of Season 5 3rd place finisher Elliot Yamin, passed away on Monday.
She was spotted several times on the show during Yamin's "Idol" run, and was most memorable on the episode where the remaining contestants returned to their hometowns for tributes and celebrations. The look on her face while riding in a limo and seeing tons of people lining the streets to cheer for her boy was priceless...and very touching (I remember getting choked up about it while watching).
She seemed like a wonderful lady.

Sad, yes. But, look on the bright side. She got to experience part of her son's success and watch him succeed at something he really enjoys doing. If I were in her shoes and nothing else good happened in my life, seeing my child succeed like that would have made it all worth it.
