Ironically, the song is from the movie Holiday Inn, which is about a bed-and-breakfast.

She eliminated White Christmas fairly early. I was surprised that Chris didn't say that the writer was better known as Irving Berlin.

10K: SSS will be happy to know that what I did in my head was count "red stripe/white stripe" up to 13, not just try & picture the flag.

20K: I had a cousin who was operated on for this problem.

30K: All that stuff about Jewishness really mislead the contestant. If you already know that Irving Berlin was born Israel Isadore Baline & wrote "White Christmas", you know it. Otherwise, all that stuff is irrelevant but contestant used it to rule out right answer.

Missy was in the green room with me on tape day. She's a wonderfully fun lady, and she and I stuck up an immediate friendship. In the green room, she told us that her lucky number was 14, so she planned on answering 14 questions and winning the million in this 14th season. She was particularly excited when I informed her that if successful, she'd be the 14th millionaire.

I'm happy to say that she has opened her bed and breakfast since taping her show. The Chateau Bourbon in Prospect, Kentucky.

I wouldn't say the hints mislead her; she just followed them in an unexpected direction. Rather than making the connection between his birth name and his professional name, she tried to identify a song with a logical connection to Judaism. And she failed in that, since the three kings (or wise men) don't have any such connection.

So far, so good.
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller
