Lyrically Speaking 4/4/16
Each of these songs is from one of the top-selling albums of the 1970s. I'm sure that TBone, for example, had most of these albums, either on vinyl or 8-track. One point for the title, one point for the artist, one point for the name of the album, and there is a three-point bonus question.
1. So I took a big chance at the high school dance
With a missy who was ready to play
Was it me she was foolin'?
'Cause she knew what she was doin'
2. And maybe you can cry all night
But that'll never change the way I feel
The snow is really piling up outside
I wish you wouldn't make me leave here
3. It's only right that you should
Play the way you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
4. There'll be good times again for me and you,
But we just can't stay together; don't you feel it too?
Still I'm glad for what we had and how I once loved you.
5. I gotta roll, cant stand still,
Got a flame in my heart, cant get my fill,
Eyes that shine burning red,
Dreams of you all thru my head.
6. I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you
7. Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good.
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go
8. Sneaking out the back door
To hang out with those hoodlum friends of mine
Greeted at the back door
But thought I told you not to go outside
Bonus: Counting sales up to the present time, what is the top-selling album from the 1970s?
Edited to add spoiler space.

My brain must be lyrically rotting. I used to do great on the 70's. I know I know 4 and 5, but can't even come close to pulling them out. Hell, I keep drifting into Ambrosia's "How Much I Feel" for #4, and I know that isn't right...

I don't recognize any of these songs from the words. None of them seems to have been written by a ninja. Although #3 comes the closest, it's a distant close.
Lizbit suggested that I guess Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd, as the top-selling album. She said she thinks it used to be, so it might be still. I also don't know anything about the musicians. I found the following picture, but for me it lacks compelling evidence that either Miss Pink or Mr. Floyd is an authentic ninja.

and yes, I had ALL of the above..on vinyl. HAD being the operative word...my albums were wiped out in the flood of 10 years ago...all except about a dozen in the "M" section, so Bat Out of Hell was one of the few that survived...not sure how those few got spared...
Bonus: Counting sales up to the present time, what is the top-selling album from the 1970s?
Eagles: Their Greatest Hits (Volume One), which kept playing leapfrog with Thriller for best selling all-time...I believe Thriller currently has a comfortable lead at the present time, however

But thought I told you not to go outside
I Wish-Stevie Wonder/Songs In The Key Of Life
and yes, I had ALL of the above..on vinyl.

"Walk This Way" - Aerosmith - Aerosmith
2. And maybe you can cry all night
But that'll never change the way I feel
The snow is really piling up outside
I wish you wouldn't make me leave here
"Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" - Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell
3. It's only right that you should
Play the way you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness
"Dreams" - Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you
"Just the Way You Are" - Billy Joel - Piano Man
7. Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good.
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go
8. Sneaking out the back door
To hang out with those hoodlum friends of mine
Greeted at the back door
But thought I told you not to go outside
Bonus: Counting sales up to the present time, what is the top-selling album from the 1970s?
The soundtrack to "Grease"

According to the Wikipedia list linked below, Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd is the top-selling '70s album and third all time after Thriller and Back In Black, which were both from the '80s. I have seen other sources that say The Wall by Pink Floyd is, but The Wall is a double album and some sources count each disc. If anyone can find a definitive answer please share it with us.

Re: Lyrically Speaking 4/4/16
Determining the best selling album depends on which column you use (certified or uncertified). According to a link from your article, the Eagles can claim it.
Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) is the first compilation album by the Eagles, released in 1976. The album contains a selection of songs from the Eagles' first four albums released in the period from the Eagles' formation in 1971 up to 1975. It is the best-selling album of the 20th century in the United States,[1] and it stayed the best selling-album in the U.S. for some years until it was surpassed by Michael Jackson's Thriller after the artist's death in 2009.[2] It is the second highest-certified album by the Recording Industry Association of America at 29x platinum, behind Thriller.[3][4]

I decided to give credit for the Eagles Greatest Hits and also for The Wall, so I added three points to the scores for Bob, Vandal, earendel and TBone.
