ITS MARCH MADNESS TIME !!!

#1 Post by Im_Ace » Mon Mar 14, 2016 8:29 am

Anyone interested?

I can set it up.

However, looking at the response, and participation of the College Bowl Mania from this group, I don't know if it's worth it.

When I created my brackets on the ESPN Tournament Challenge site, it asked me if I wanted to rejoin the WWTBAM group, so it still exists and does not need to be built again.
Just make your entry and indicate you want to put it back in the WWTBAM group.

Newcomers will have to sign into the group

An acceptable 1st day. I missed 4 games, but none of those misses affect my round two.

Elwood, congrats on only missing 2, but that AZ miss is a deep wound!

Looking for that 3rd 12-5 upset today.

Thanks. I had some insider information for my Arkansas-Little Rock pick. I knew how good they are because they are in the same conference as my team and they beat my team in the conference tournament final, so I thought I would take a shot at them.

But I had Arizona getting to the round of eight, and it could be worse. Michigan State is behind right now.

The good news is only 4 folks don't have Mich. St. going to the Final Four. Those four must be feeling good.

The basketball coach at Virginia, not the singer.

The last two years, UVA lost in the NCAA tournament to Michigan State, and could have met in the regional finals. That won't happen this year.

Middle Tennessee State, a #15 seed, beat #2 seed Sparty by 90-81. Middle Tenn St never trailed in the game, although it got close at some points.

The MSU Athletic Department must be having kittens now. First, the Cotton Bowl, now this.

And Michigan State has lost to Middle Tennessee. This may be the biggest upset ever in this tournament. It was controversial that Mich. St. was not a one seed. Ten of us in our group had them winning the title. My possible points remaining went from 1660 to 1030.

This is really good news for Kansas.

And let's hope Virginia has MSU's luck tomorrow. Go Dawgs!

I didn't have Michigan State in the Final Four. But I did have Purdue. I don't feel good but I feel better.

Do I win something for having the fewest PPR's after the first round?

So far we're all still in it, right?

Sweet 16 has all four #1 seeds for the first time since 2011.

6 of the 8 match ups for round 3 are as expected (based on seeding):

Two 1 vs 4s
Two 2 vs 3s
Two 1 vs 5s (just slightly off original seeding).

and then you have: 6 vs 7 and 11 vs 10. Interesting how even these are sibling seed match ups (only 1 seed from each other).

So while there were a lot of unexpected upsets, 75% of the teams left are as expected (based on seeding). And those that aren't are playing each other.

All of the round 3 games should be very competitive. Good luck to everyone!

Only one other person besides me even had Villanova in the championship game. If I'd have picked them to win that game, I'd have come from the cellar during the second round to winning the whole damn thing...

Oh well, not bad for completely uneducated picks...
