R.I.P. Officer Ashley Guindon

#1 Post by BackInTex » Sun Feb 28, 2016 7:18 pm

Killed in the line of duty her first day on the job.

A sad story.

Guindon, a former Marine Corps reservist with a master's degree in forensic science, had been sworn in on Friday, which the department marked with a celebratory tweet.
Guindon's death was not the first tragedy to strike her family. Her father, David, killed himself the day after he returned home from Iraq, where he served with the New Hampshire Air National Guard. "He came home and took his own life," Dorothy Guindon, Ashley's grandmother, told The Associated Press. He was buried with full military honors on Aug. 26, 2004.

War is where the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself.

This young Maryland cop will be buried tomorrow, 20 miles from where I live:

Funeral for Prince George’s officer killed in ambush draws thousands

A local lowlife wanted to “commit suicide by cop,” so he began shooting outside a police station. Detective Jacai Colson returned fire. Another officer mistook Jacai, who was off duty, black, and not in uniform, for a criminal, and shot and killed him.

I just want to scream. I agree with Jacai's friend: “It is not all one style of lives matter. All lives matter.”

So training didn't help distinguish friend from foe. Sigh.

What an awful tragedy for both officers. --Bob
