I get 15 cents off a gallon by using a Stop and Shop coupon thingie and I can't get it for less than $3.15 these days.
There's a town real close to here that has several gas stations that are always 6-10 cents cheaper than everyone else.
Have never figured out why.

I seldom have any idea what the gas price is.
I have 250 gallon tank at home that is now monitored remotely and is filled as needed. I get a monthly bill on our usage. Gas and home heating has been running me $1,500 to $2,000 a month this winter. We live in an old house with very little insulation and I drive a LOT!!!!
Until last fall-I had to order gas as needed and pay for the tank. I like this way better as I pay the monthly average price.
I paid 3.24 last week when I was on the road.
I view the main advantage of having a gas tank at home (besides convenience) as sort of a Y2K stash thingie. If something really bad happens-ie nuclear explosion somewhere-odds are I will have a few hundred gallons of gas on hand and that will provide me some flexibilty and options if needed.

During the gas shortages of the 70s we put in tanks at all three of our farms including one where our hogs were located and where we almost never had any equipment to fuel up. Those were our "reserve" tanks in case we couldn't get anything from our supplier.
Of course that was also about the time that we had to start locking up the tanks.
I paid $3.08 here in Houston last night.

What about that "tragic gasoline fight accident" in Zoolander? I think the government should do MORE to protect people from themselves.
