I played early this morning and at the time I was 4th on the leaderboard, that must have crashed it.

It's still up. By coincidence, I did pretty well this month (currently 5th). TMITSS is currently 7th.

I get

"This webpage is not available

ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED"

I assumed that maybe Sploofus skips leap day, but since a couple of you got through, I guess I'm wrong about that, as I am about a lot of things.

I played this morning as well... and even answered a small backlog of QoD's I had...

It's still dead for me. I didn't get to play the last day of the month, which is key for rankings, assuming it might work again in the future.

It worked fine for me around 7 PM PST. Used Google Chrome. I just looked at e-mails and even got the Sploofus reminder for Monday, and those are sporadic, at best.

I've tried Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and IE...Sploofus is still down in all of them.

Can't log in to Sploofus?

Dear Sploofus member,
If you've tried to access Sploofus in the last 24 hours, it's possible that you haven't been able to get in.

We're writing to give you some background and to let you know the current status of the site.

Many Sploofus members were unable to log in to the site on Monday, and access continues to be limited.

We reported this to our tech expert Monday morning. He said that after rebooting the servers, he was unable to access a piece of equipment called the load balancer. (See this Wikipedia article for info on load balancing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Load_bala ... mputing%29 )

Due to this, he contacted the Data Center where the servers are located so that the Data Center can check on things at their end.

In addition, based on talks with a Sploofus player who's also a tech person, it's possible that the problem is in the domain name system (DNS) and that it's not routing properly.

We forwarded that info to our tech expert.

So, please rest assured that we're aware of the problems, and we're doing everything we can to get them resolved as soon as possible.

Once Sploofus is back to normal, please bear with us. It will take us a while, for example, to deal with the word puzzle queue.

We're sorry for the inconvenience but thank you for your patience and understanding!

Best regards,
The Sploofus Editorial Staff

How did you get this information? Did they send you a preemptive email, without you doing anything? All they ever send me is the daily reminder to play, but when I click the link in the routine email, I get this error message:
This domain has expired. If you owned this domain, contact your domain registration service provider for further assistance. If you need help identifying your provider, visit http://tucowsdomains.com.
That does not appear consistent with the official Sploofus explanation. If this is true, they haven't paid to renew the domain name. So I don't know how it would work for some people but not for others.

I got the normal daily email but when I clicked on the link I was sent to a "placeholder" page. In looking at the code for that I see: http://return.uk.domainnamesales.com/re ... 1457016088 which means they didn't pay the bill.

I can't speak for anyone else, but Sploofus started working for me tonight. My backlog of unanswered questions was waiting for me and it seems back to normal.

I looked up a Sploofus fan page on Facebook last night. Someone said that it will be up and fully running in a few days for everyone. Some people are getting through but it's real spotty.

I got in last night and made up 5 questions.

Got a lot of them wrong, though.
