Back from Ireland

#1 Post by fuzzywuzzy » Wed Apr 02, 2008 6:34 am

I got back to Boston yesterday afternoon. We had a wonderful time! It was extremely expensive since the dollar is so weak right now. That being said, I really think that alot of Americans will not travel abroad until the dollar gets stronger. I had lunch in Galway that cost 16 euros, translated to my credit card with fees = $30 Not the best bang for your buck...and this was at a cafeteria!

I am still in Boston, and I leave tonight for KC.

I will write more very soon!

OHHH, for SC, I saw Irish step dancing in a Pub in Dublin. It was fantastic!

Take care everybody...

No kidding on the expense! Five of us went out for St. Patrick's Day here at home, and the total bill was $85. (Two meals were kids' meals, but even I had a beer, which I normally wouldn't but it was a celebration.)

The bill for just my husband and one son from a Pizza Express in London ended up translating to $125. Maybe my husband had pasta, and I'm sure he had wine, but $125!?!? For two people!?!? From a place called Pizza Express!?!?

We're getting hosed overseas on the exchange rate.
