I hope so. One of the hardest things to see is a player, especially a successful one, try to stretch it out (e.g., Unitas, Namath, Kobe Bryant, Abdul-Jabbar, and to a lesser extent Montana). But it's hard to let go of something you've done for most of your life and venture to the great unknown.
Of course, he could go on to be a commercial jingle singer.

Patriots-Broncos drew a national 31.8 rating and 53 share, making it the highest-rated TV program since last Super Bowl.

Agreed. It's time. He's got a huge number of records that will stand for a while. Nothing left to prove and money is not an issue. Toss in age and recent health stuff and I would be just amazed if Peyton tried for another season. As I am typing this just 9.5 miles from Neyland stadium, we've been following his career for a long, long time.
Mrs. Jaybee (who knows a LOT more about football than I) says that he will move into coaching - either college or pros. I'm thinking coaching and/or team ownership somewhere. As long as he stays in the spotlight somewhere his huge endorsement list will continue.
There was quite a move on in Colts country when the rumors about Pagano being fired first broke to fire the GM instead, bring back Pagano on an extension, and hire Peyton as GM. There was a petition and everything. I don't think Peyton would want to work for Irsay Jr., but it made for a nice story there for a while. And I think he would make a better GM than he would a coach.

I'm thinking announcing or analyzing. I think Tony Dungy, Tom Jackson, Cris Collinsworth, Terry Bradshaw, Bill Cowher, Phil Simms, and Troy Aikman are all GREAT at it. I love Elway, but I admit he would be terrible. Besides, I'm very happy with him right where he is.
