Meanwhile out in the desert
I'm playing this weekend at the Palm Springs Regional. Had a close loss in the second round of our Compact Knockout bracket so we ended up in the Swiss. Won three of our four matches in the afternoon but two of our wins were close so we missed the overalls. My goal of picking up 600 points this year is rapidly fading from view. Even if we win tomorrow's event, I'll probably still need another 20 points or so over the last two weeks of the year. --Bob

Barely squeaked into the overalls. I need about 40 points in the next 11 days. With the events remaining accessible to me (a sectional, a couple of Unit Games, and a handful of regular club games), that doesn't seem terribly realistic. --Bob
