Finished the seven matches of the Swiss with 83 victory points, good for 16th through 18th overall in the event (overall awards paid 17 places) and 5th in Stratum X. The award was 4.20 gold points, bringing me up to 21.62 points for the tournament. I'd hoped for better from 20 sessions of bridge, but there you have it.

Heading home tomorrow afternoon. --Bob

Wish I could have attended. I do plan on going to Reno and as of now I just may be there the whole time. That will be the start of my wind down at work. I plan on retirement at the end of 2016. My first NABC was in Reno 2004 and had a blast.

I'll probably go to Reno but I truly loathe the schedule of national events there. The only national level events I'm sure I can and want to play in are the Open Pairs and the Open Swiss at the end of the tournament. I can't stand IMP Pairs so I won't play that event, I'm not eligible for the Platinum Pairs, I didn't qualify (my partner flaked) for North American Pairs, I don't have a partner for the Mixed Pairs, and my chances of assembling a team with which I'd have a satisfactory experience in the Vanderbilt are infinitesimal.

I'll probably still go for at least part of the time but my enthusiasm for the tournament is definitely diminished by the schedule. --Bob
