RIP George Barris
Legendary custom car builder George Barris has died, according to a Facebook post from his son. He was 89.

He designed and built many iconic TV cars over the years, most famously the 1966 Batmobile, as well as the Munster Koach, the iconic car from The Beverly Hillbillies, the Monkeemobile, the General Lee, and the Knight Industries Two Thousand (K.I.T.T.) from Knight Rider.

Sadly, however, Gene Gene the Dancing Machine passed away earlier this year.

History channel has been running some "Best of the decade" specials. In addition to that, "Pawn Stars" and "American Pickers" have been doing complementary "decade" shows. This past week, AP did "American Pickers - Best of the 60's," which included their meeting George Barris at the start of the show and William Shatner at the end.
It re-airs (twice here) on Wednesday.
