My kids had fun during the break. Maddie got to hang out with her Mock Trial team , they didn't win State by the way, and we did some things as a family. Emma got to do things without her sister and caught up on some homework.
They know I tired though.
This morning, I have been working on my mother's taxes. Of course she isn't home to answer my questions about her goofy records...

It's funny--I enjoyed having a chance to sleep in for a week, and today the weather is so nice, I wished I could have let the kids stay home. But Mini-me is getting the Attendance NastyGrams after missing a week to go to Ireland. And a Monday for the Super Bowl. And a Monday for some other trip. And maybe 3 days where he was actually sick.
So, no joy.

They went to Ireland. It rained. They saw lambs being born. And castles.
Then Steve took Mini-me on a side trip to London to give him a break from his cousin (Demon Child is definitely a small doses kind of kid) and they did all the touristy landmarks and saw Spamalot and he goes around clicking together things and riding an imaginary horse. We're raising him right!

They knew in advance, but there is this automatic feature that kicks in at 7 absences, since I think the max is 21 before they just automatically fail you. His teachers had no problem with him going and even told him to go to the Tower while he was in London.
