McCarthy withdraws from Speakership contest
Kevin McCarthy has withdrawn from consideration to succeed John Boehner as Speaker of the House. The Republican Caucus meeting to decide their nominee has been postponed. --Bob

Well, yeah. McCarthy dropped out because he got caught telling the truth last week. And there is absolutely no place for truth in the Republican House of Representatives.

Seriously, until and unless a credible news source reports it as fact, I don't care. And after that, I'll only care if it demonstrates hypocrisy in his public positions or misuse of public funds (or some comparable abuse of public trust). I don't remember McCarthy as being one of those Congresscritters who makes a big deal about moral issues so I suspect that it wouldn't pass that test even if true. --Bob

I like that reasoning. As long as he has no stated moral values, or at least doesn't make a big deal about morality, he's free to do anything and he gets a pass, right? Sorta like Bill Clinton.I don't remember McCarthy as being one of those Congresscritters who makes a big deal about moral issues so I suspect that it wouldn't pass that test even if true.
