Decades '15 Guidelines

[I Love Decades!]

Greetings, fellow BBs. As your host of Decades '15 I'd like to point out a few things. First, thanks to Fanny for allowing me to continue this great Bored tradition. She won't read this, but it needs to be said. This will be a similar version to hers, but I clearly lack her snappy wit and snarky repartee, so the tone will be much lighter.

Please follow these simple guidelines:


1. Decades 2015 begins October 1 and ends October 16.

2. Each game will typically be posted early (0700-0730) Eastern time on weekdays and remain open until the results are posted, usually the next morning. All Friday games remain open through the weekend. Please use spoilers for all answers.

3. I'll be using pretty much the same structure Fanny used during her reign as Decades overlord (overlady?). You'll see these categories:

KINGS & QUEENS
FADS & CRAZES
WINNERS & LOSERS
ACTORS & LINES
SLOGANS & SPOKESMEN
COMING & GOING
CATS & DOGS
WORDS & MUSIC
WILL & GRACE
AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS
TV SHOWS & THEME SONGS

Plus two new ones:

BEFORE & AFTER
LOVE & MARRIAGE

The following ten-year periods will be covered:
50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s

4. As before, games can be one topic, different decades, different categories, same decade, different categories same year, mix and match. The points will vary from day to day.

5. No outside sources allowed, this includes previous posts on the board. Don't cheat, it's not becoming.

6. Humorous posts and retorts are encouraged for the good of the Bored, but I don't give out humor points. I have a hard enough time just getting the regular scores somewhat correct!

7. There will be no hidden bonus questions or tasks (Fanny was quite good at this with her Political Monkey Feces Fun Facts). Really, there won't be any, even after you read all the way to the end of this post. Really! Maybe.

8. I try my best to avoid ambiguous wording in the questions. Please don't be a dink if the wording is not perfect.

9. As luck would have it, my latest book will be released right in the middle of the Decades '15 run. I don't think it will be an issue, but I may be delayed getting results and/or standings posted in a timely manner.

You can, but you'd probably end up altering the timeline and there'd be different questions when you got back...
