Fansided.com and TMZ report the wrestler died today of cardiac arrest at age 61.

That stinks. Hands down my favorite wrestler ever...so entertaining, whether he was being a heel or what they call a "face", as in "babyface" (good guy). Made me laugh in either role. Back when he and Hogan and the like were headlining the WWF in their popular 80'S days, Saturday Night Live was pre-empted once a month or so by Saturday Night's Main Event. One night they had a Halloween-themed show, and in between matches there was a series of segments showing kids trick-or-treating at Piper's house that was as laugh-out-loud funny as pretty much anything SNL could come up with back then outside of Eddie Murphy.
