RIP Roger Rees

Actor best known for his stage work but also for appearances on Cheers as Kirstie Alley's wealthy love interest and The West Wing as the British ambassador. He also appeared in the Mel Brooks Robin Hood film as the Sheriff.

Age 71.

He is a yearly visitor to our house on Christmas Eve, when we traditionally watch the George C. Scott version of A Christmas Carol. Rees played Scrooge's nephew Fred,

SOngwriter Michael Masser died THursday. He wrote or co-wrote songs for DIana Ross, WHitney Houston, Natalie COle, and other artists in the 70s-90s.
