Observations August 22, 2014 - Davy Jones's Locker
Today's observation is quoted with our thanks to Tanstaafl2 from a post of June 12, 2009.
If Delta flight 200 ends up in Davy Jones' Locker odds are I won't be back; otherwise I will return in a couple of weeks.

Yep, to match the word. I don't think he minded. At least, he hasn't said anything yet.

Yup, I did. He had it correctly to begin with and if you change it, you're no longer "quoting" him.SportsFan68 wrote:I believe you mean his possessification.Estonut wrote:You changed his pluralization.SportsFan68 wrote:Today's observation is quoted with our thanks to Tanstaafl2 from a post of June 12, 2009.

I rarely know what the correct version is to begin with...

This does bring up rather fond memories of the few days we spent at Thonga Beach lodge!
Even the green mamba that decided to visit the bar one evening...

It's so rare that a person reads "fond memories" and "green mamba" in the same narrative . . .tanstaafl2 wrote:This does bring up rather fond memories of the few days we spent at Thonga Beach lodge!

I'm glad you had an enjoyable trip, poisonous snakes notwithstanding.

I doubt the snake had very fond memories of it. He was chased all around the bar area until I guess he decided a drink just wasn't worth it!SportsFan68 wrote:It's so rare that a person reads "fond memories" and "green mamba" in the same narrative . . .tanstaafl2 wrote:This does bring up rather fond memories of the few days we spent at Thonga Beach lodge!

It did make the walk back to the chalet in the moonlight that night somewhat more adventurous than originally expected...

I'm surprised he came in at all. "They are shy and elusive snakes which are rarely seen." Still, he got out with his life, and y'all did too. Good outcome all around in such a beautiful spot, plus extra adventure I bet you didn't have to pay for!tanstaafl2 wrote:I doubt the snake had very fond memories of it. The guide wondered the same thing as I recall but the bar area is pretty quite during the day (it is a very small place) and the bar was made of clay tubes stacked on each other which may have well been cooler and seemed a bit like a cave or hole. In any case there he was!SportsFan68 wrote:I'm surprised he came in at all. "They are shy and elusive snakes which are rarely seen." Still, he got out with his life, and y'all did too. The current picture on the website suggests they may have changed how that bar is constructed to eliminate the holes.
