RIP Jerry Lewis Telethon

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Fri May 01, 2015 1:17 pm

Jerry himself is still alive, but the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon with which he was associated for so many years has called it quits. Lewis himself last appeared on the telethon in 2010, and it was cut back substantially since then.

"...not with a bang but a whimper."

I know it's been totally scaled back the past few years; two years ago I wondered where the heck it was, and found it had been diminished to some few prime-time hours. Maybe it shows how much of a force of nature that Mr. Lewis was for making it happen all of those years, and without him (inevitable, given his age and health) it just dried up.
