Rep. Aaron Schock Resigns

#1 Post by Bob Juch » Tue Mar 17, 2015 12:25 pm

Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL) announced his resignation from Congress Tuesday afternoon.

Schock's resignation came after multiple news outlets raised questions about his use of taxpayer and campaign funds.

Good
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

He'll have plenty of time to watch Downton Abbey now.

I wish all elected federal officials from Illinois would resign.

I guess that means President Obama doesn't have to resign because he's "from" Kenya and not "from" Illinois. I mean, that's what your people still believe, right?

It's 'taping' my watch.

They are biased. But what does it have to do with this? It's good we got another corrupt pol out of there. But corrupt politicians are like doritos. They'll just elect more.

Hey BiT, I never knew about you and Hillary

An anonymous email circulated by supporters of Mrs Clinton, Mr Obama’s main rival for the party’s nomination, thrust a new allegation into the national spotlight — that he had not been born in Hawaii.

Why did you think it necessary to post a link to an article from 2011 now?

I figured it had something to do with billing the government 170,000 mile on a vehicle with only 80,000 miles on it.

Someone must not have told him that lawyer accounting (aka billable hours) doesn't work in other areas. :P

------

Which brings up a joke. I heard that once upon a time at the Pearly Gates, St. Peter announced a new arrival, a lawyer who he proclaimed as being 235 years old at his death!

The lawyer said, "Sir, you must be mistaken, I was only 73."

St. Peter said, "Oh, we must have been going by your billed hours!" :P

BiT, I'm so glad you read the Justice Department report on the Ferguson police department. I just knew that someday if you were exposed to the facts enough times, they would overcome all of your conveniently childlike, conservative misconceptions.
