Lyrically Speaking - 2/12/15

#1 Post by LookingForHumorPoints » Thu Feb 12, 2015 8:25 am

Guess who didn't have any ideas for the last Theme Thursday game? Yep, that dumbass LB. I don't know what possessed him to think he could run even a half-assed LS contest without more than a few empty notebook pages and a handful of dreams. I have nothing to do with the theme of today's game... which is rather, well, interesting. LB thinks most of you will get it, but he's overestimated you all before. One thing I can say for sure with about 80% accuracy is that this concept has never been used in a hidden-themed LS game before...

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, 3 points for the theme...

1. And she's watching him with those eyes
And she's lovin' him with that body, I just know it
Yeah 'n' he's holding her in his arms late, late at night

2. Off the wind on this heading
Lie the Marquesas.
We got eighty feet of the waterline.
Nicely making way.

3. I have stood here before
Inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles
Running round my brain

4. In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp

5. Cause out on the ocean of life, my love
There`s so many storms we must rise above
Can you hear the spirit calling
As it`s carried across the waves

6. She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it

7. So it looked like I had to move slowly
Like a cat at night in the trees
Cause I was waiting for her to show me
The way that she like her love to feel

8. You're the only one who gets through to me
In the warm glow of the candlelight
Oh, I wonder what you're gonna do to me

9. The night is full of holes
There's bullets ripping sky of ink with gold
They twinkle as the boys play rock and roll
They know that they can't dance - at least they know

10. At home drawing pictures of mountain tops
With him on top
Lemon yellow sun
Arms raised in a vee
The dead lay in pools of maroon below

11. Up all night with Freddie King
I got to tell you, poker's his thing
Booze and ladies, keep me right
As long as we can make it to the show tonight

12. I pick myself up off the ground
To have you knock me back down
Again and again
And when I ask you to explain

Theme?

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that fits the theme of today's game.

Image Bonus: If you know the theme, show me a relevant picture!

Someday I shall get a theme. But today is not that day.
1. And she's watching him with those eyes
And she's lovin' him with that body, I just know it
Yeah 'n' he's holding her in his arms late, late at night

Jesse's Squirrel, Rick Springfield

2. Off the wind on this heading
Lie the Marquesas.
We got eighty feet of the waterline.
Nicely making way.

3. I have stood here before
Inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles
Running round my brain

4. In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp

The Sounds of Silence, Simon and Garfunkel

5. Cause out on the ocean of life, my love
There`s so many storms we must rise above
Can you hear the spirit calling
As it`s carried across the waves

6. She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it

7. So it looked like I had to move slowly
Like a cat at night in the trees
Cause I was waiting for her to show me
The way that she like her love to feel

8. You're the only one who gets through to me
In the warm glow of the candlelight
Oh, I wonder what you're gonna do to me

9. The night is full of holes
There's bullets ripping sky of ink with gold
They twinkle as the boys play rock and roll
They know that they can't dance - at least they know

10. At home drawing pictures of mountain tops
With him on top
Lemon yellow sun
Arms raised in a vee
The dead lay in pools of maroon below

11. Up all night with Freddie King
I got to tell you, poker's his thing
Booze and ladies, keep me right
As long as we can make it to the show tonight

12. I pick myself up off the ground
To have you knock me back down
Again and again
And when I ask you to explain

Jesse's Squirl - Rick Springfield

2. Off the wind on this heading
Lie the Marquesas.
We got eighty feet of the waterline.
Nicely making way.

Southern Cross - CSN

3. I have stood here before
Inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles
Running round my brain

King of Pain - Police

4. In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp

The Sounds of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel

5. Cause out on the ocean of life, my love
There`s so many storms we must rise above
Can you hear the spirit calling
As it`s carried across the waves

The Voice - Moody Blues

6. She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it

Easy Lover - Philip Bailey & Phil Collins

7. So it looked like I had to move slowly
Like a cat at night in the trees
Cause I was waiting for her to show me
The way that she like her love to feel

Ebony Eyes - Bob Welch

8. You're the only one who gets through to me
In the warm glow of the candlelight
Oh, I wonder what you're gonna do to me

In Your Room - Bangles

9. The night is full of holes
There's bullets ripping sky of ink with gold
They twinkle as the boys play rock and roll
They know that they can't dance - at least they know

Vertigo - U2

10. At home drawing pictures of mountain tops
With him on top
Lemon yellow sun
Arms raised in a vee
The dead lay in pools of maroon below

Jeremy - Pearl Jam

11. Up all night with Freddie King
I got to tell you, poker's his thing
Booze and ladies, keep me right
As long as we can make it to the show tonight

We're an American Band - Grand Funk

12. I pick myself up off the ground
To have you knock me back down
Again and again
And when I ask you to explain

Cruel to Be Kind - Nick Lowe

Theme?

Songs that have been used in this LS series already.

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that fits the theme of today's game.

Spoiler
It looks like I'm the only one who repeated an image.
I guess I took the theme a little too far.

Theme? - Songs I've already used in the 2015 LSWUe!

Kroxquo Bonus: Name another song with artist that fits the theme of today's game.

I accepted any Krox of a song that already appeared in the game, or that you had Kroxed previously this year

Image Bonus: If you know the theme, show me a relevant picture!

Anything having to do with recycling, repeating, rerunning, etc. was acceptable... as well as an image you had previously used. It was pretty hard to top Esto's sloppy seconds, so he gets the 5 point IBB!

Well crap - the Bored ate my post, so I'm going to miss out on the perfect attendance bonus.

For the record, I had #s 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, and 11 but had no idea as to the theme and therefore had no image.
