The question writers must love it when a contestant appreciates the fluff they throw into their questions. Two lifelines wasted, because she over-read the significance of "an unusually strong commitment to realism"!

This is a horrible question. There is no commitment to realism in The Wizard of Oz; that's extremely confusing. The only reason I knew the answer is because there was some kind of "the making of the Wizard of Oz" on television last week.

-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller

As I said, it was fluff. And it probably came about when the question writers were doing research and said, "oh, isn't that cool, the Cowardly Lion's costume was made with real lion pelts!" They were referring to the costume and nothing else whatsoever in the movie.

If they'd been less specific about the material used, I'm sure we could have all been entertained by ponderings about whether the King Kong costume was made of real gorilla pelts, the Maltese Falcon was a real falcon dipped in gold, or Robin's hood was made out of robin's feathers. :P
