Survivor?
So, am I the only one watching this season? If so, I can understand why - not exactly one of the better ones.
Usually by the time they get down to six or eight I have a good opinion of who I want to win. Most often someone that I just like, and/or someone who is really playing the game. Not so this time. A couple players have no clue how to play, a couple think that they know how to play but can't follow through with a correct path to their success and the rest just wallow in the middle. I think it's just a case of casting. Maybe it would have been a better second half if a few different people went home leaving others to carry on.
Of the whole crowd, I was leaning towards Jeremy, but he's been sitting on the jury for a few rounds now. I like the openness of Keith, but the nuances of Survivor game-play are completely lost on him. Natalie thinks she's playing the hardest right now (and probably is) but she is making the right moves at the wrong time and is not really trusted by anyone.
I'm still going to watch to the end, but am feeling more and more like a UT Vol fan.....wait 'til next year.

Re: Survivor?
Agree with most of it, but I am cheering for Natalie. The Twinnies together are unbearable, but Nat alone is actually fun to watch. I think she is right to get Jon out soon, if she can, or at least get Jackie out to throw him off his game. That would have been a good move tonight, getting Keith Alec Baylor and herself to vote Jackie out. Jon and Missy would be completely confused for the next challenge.jaybee wrote:So, am I the only one watching this season? If so, I can understand why - not exactly one of the better ones.

I hope Natalie understood the meaning of "literally" when she said, "If Jon wins, I will literally kill myself."a1mamacat wrote:Agree with most of it, but I am cheering for Natalie. Re: Survivor?
I always watch and I always enjoy the show. With six remaining I do not have a strong guess who will win unlike last season when Tony ran it like firefighter Tom from season 10.
Jon/Jaclyn
Misty/Baylor
Natalie
Keith
Couples bond take out singles.
Women take out guys.
Natalie, Misty, Baylor and Keith take out Jon & Jaclyn.
Do we know if Julie leaving will make this a 2-person final and 9-member jury or it's 8 voting for 3?
I do know the finale is Wednesday the 17th, so again none of the Sunday stuff. Hell's Kitchen 2-hour finale on the same night will be watched later.
No matter the finals I cannot see Misty or Jaclyn winning.
I'm hopeful the Natalie/Baylor idol comes into play for a big move. Jon's idol won't matter if he gets on an immunity winning streak. All the credit in the world to Keith for doing so well against him in that domino rope thing plus other challenges.

Re: Survivor?
If they continue with three finalists, eventually they are going to come up with a tie. With a final two and a 9 member jury, that cannot happen but a final three could see a 3/3/2 or 4/4/0 vote split. More likely to happen this season as there is not a clear front runner.
I am assuming that if that happens, they will have two million dollar winners. Not much good TV in having it come down to drawing rocks to award the big prize.
Jons idol will still have a lot of value, even if he runs the immunity challenges. Even though Natalie missed the obvious Plan B move of voting Jaclyn out at the last tribal, it has got to be obvious that there is no way that two couples will make the finals - somebody's got to go sometime. If Jon wins immunity his hidden idol can shield Jaclyn.
I don't think that Missy (Is it Missy or Misty?)or Baylor will get many final votes, so they are the pair to take with you to the end.
One remaining strategy to be seen is the question of is it better to have a couple in the final three? Not only does that cost you one sure jury vote but other votes could be split. OTOH, if it's a final two and those two are a couple, makes it somewhat anticlimactic for the final vote.

Missy, yes. You'd think by this many weeks in I would know their names. Good point about Jon's idol. They would have trouble staying together as a couple if he had immunity, kept his idol and Jaclyn got voted out.

Or they could have a fire-making contest on the CBS soundstage.jaybee wrote:I am assuming that if that happens, they will have two million dollar winners. Not much good TV in having it come down to drawing rocks to award the big prize.

Re: Survivor?
it is never quite clear to me if the cast members already know if it will be 2 or 3 at the end. That might make a difference in strategy.
At some point immunity idols have to be played or they have no value. Isn't that usually when they are at five voting for the top four? So pretty soon. I would presume they know that?
Natalie voting Alex instead of Jaclyn was certainly a head scratcher this week. If she was going to go rogue that seemed like it would have been the better play.

Re: Survivor?
One of the things that always bugged me about how Survivor is presented is that the viewers don't know some rules that prove to have an impact on the game. --Bobtanstaafl2 wrote:it is never quite clear to me if the cast members already know if it will be 2 or 3 at the end. I thought Jon used his hidden immunity idol last week? Did he find another one?

Re: Survivor?
Yes he sure did. Missy chose him to go to Exile Island, as they knew there was another one back in the gamemelleon wrote:I thought Jon used his hidden immunity idol last week? Did he find another one?

Re: Survivor?
Yeah, Jon actually quickly volunteered to go to exile as he correctly figured that there would be another idol to be found.
