wrote to my birth sister, and received a very good email in return. She also attached a photo of my birth mom, Shirley, from around the time I was born. She explained that she only learned about me about 2 weeks before my Shirley passed, when they were alone in the hospital room. She said that she didn't want to discuss my birth father, so no information there yet. Margaret is my birth sister's name, about 48. Margaret said her father knew about me but didn't want any one to know, so that is why I was a secret. My half brother doesn't know yet, the father doesn't want him to know, but Margaret says she will tell him, and soon.
So, as I say, a good start. We'll share bits as we go, and see what happens.

Thanks for the update!
It sounds odd that the father still doesn't want his son to know. I assume that son's not a child any more or anything close to it.

I think it's a byproduct of the times. Unwed mother and all was considered a shameful thing. Margaret's father is upset that she knows too. I think he and Shirley probably agreed never to tell, so now that she did, he's feeling rather betrayed.MarleysGh0st wrote:Thanks for the update!
