RIP Pat Quinn

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Tue Nov 25, 2014 7:51 am

Former NHL coach and player whose Philadelphia Flyers team holds the NHL record with a 35-game unbeaten streak (a record that's likely to remain since there's no ties in the NHL any more). Quinn was twice named NHL Coach of the Year and coached the Canadian Olympic team to a gold medal, but his teams never won the Stanley Cup (runners up twice). I saw him play for the early Atlanta Flames as a very journeyman defenseman (when he actually scored a goal in a game once, the arena was shocked).

Age 71
