Spoiler
uote]9. PETER GABRIEL / PETER GABRIEL / PETER GABRIEL / _____[/quote]

This is ambiguous, because it depends on where in the sequence you start. Peter Gabriel released more than three self-titled albums, so the answer could be PETER GABRIEL. But if you aren't starting from his first album, it could be SO.

1. FINAL / FOR FEAR THAT / SERIES / (e.g.) DIDN'T WIN

Last, lest, list, lost.

2. SCARLETT PAPAVA / STUART THOMAS / JACK GIDDINGS / JAMES BOND

MI6 agents 004, 005, 006, and 007 in the James Bond series. I bet that most of you didn't even know that the fictional MI6 had other agents besides James Bond.

3. A: ONE THOUSAND (OR ONE HUNDRED AND ONE) / B: ONE BILLION / C: ONE OCTILLION / D: ONE HUNDRED

First numbers whose written names contain A, B, C, and D.

4. EDWARD BURGH / JOHN NEVILLE / HENRY VIII / THOMAS SEYMOUR

Successive husbands of Catherine Parr. And yes, Thomas Seymour was the brother of Jane Seymour, Henry VIII's third wife.

5. STOCKTON, CA / MAMMOTH LAKES, CA / SAN BERNARDINO, CA / DETROIT, MI

The four most recent municipal bankruptcies in the U.S. I don't know if any U.S. cities have gone bankrupt since Detroit, but given how much red there is in Detroit, anything after that probably wouldn't have been newsworthy enough. After all, I did write this question a few weeks after Detroit declared.

6. TOP 2ND / BOTTOM 2ND / TOP 6TH / BOTTOM 1ST

Relative positions of W, X, Y, and Z on a QWERTY keyboard.

7. UCONN: 4 & 9 / UNC: 5 & 1 / STANFORD: 1 & 2 / MARYLAND: 1 & 1

The only four universities that have won men's and women's NCAA basketball championships.

8. SANK / CEASE / SET / WHEAT

Homophones of the French numbers 5, 6, 7, and 8. Cinque, six, sept, and huit.

9. PETER GABRIEL / PETER GABRIEL / PETER GABRIEL / PETER GABRIEL

No, it wasn't just Peter Gabriel's name four times. This was a legitimate sequence. Probably one of the most brilliant questions ever asked on the Bored.

Peter Gabriel's first four solo albums in chronological order. You could have gone second through fifth solo albums (as Frank did) and still made a legit sequence with "So".

Picture #1 was some delicious Genoa salami. Picture #2 was quarterback Geno Smith. Picture #3 was Gen from the "Street Fighter" video game. So the sequence was GENOA, GENO, GEN. For picture #4, I could have accepted a GE light bulb, Bishop G.E. Patterson, or G.E. Smith of "Saturday Night Live".

Subtract the last letter in a name to get the name of the next picture.

7/14 + 7/15 scores (4 participants)
ShamelessWeasel - 16 + 24 = 40
Bob Juch - 16 + 20 = 36
franktangredi - 4 + 8 = 12
Bob78164 - 4 + 0 = 4

Brilliant question? Debatable, but your answer is wrong. Peter's fourth solo album is titled "Security." The title appears on the spine only. Additionally, there were 2 other albums between "Security" and "So" - "Plays Live" and "Birdy."
